This is used when someone is in an arguement that they just can't win, and there down to their last resort, the only thing left to do is ice the puck and re-group.
"Hey Sully, ice the puck buddy, ur not gonna win this one."

Refers to the duster on the team who constantly sends the puck up the middle resulting in a turnover.

Ex. "Hey Sabs you get a part time job at Johnny Delivery... Quit sending pizza's up the middle you plug"
