Re: Embarassed...
by PicassoMoon44 on Thursday, February 17, 2005 Having known in my heart since November that the season would never be played, it felt odd to me yesterday when while watching Bettman I finally became angry as hell! I was fine until then but what infuriated me was watching that phony liar talk... there is nothing that could have come out of his mouth that I wouldnt have wanted to kick right back in it! Dont try to pull the shit over us... hockey fans are different... we know the game... we're not watching once or twice just so we can keep up around the water cooler... we are fuckin real... we are the real fuckin deal and if you look me in the eye and try to tell me about MY game- Ill fuckin donkey you! Its not your game, Bettman, the beauty is that you are less a component of this game that I am... "Why do i say that?" I can because I know that if I ever, ever see you on the ice I will DEMOLISH you! I will bury you, I will wheel around you, I will shoot AT you and I will fill your mouth with old fuckin garage lumber! Remember the old joke... Im gonna stick this stick so far up your ass its only gonna say "treal." Yes... that will also be true, sir. Its not your game. Its mine.
by bigbert44 on Thursday, February 17, 2005 Why are you blaming Bettman? It's his job to look after the well-being of the league. That might seem like an odd statement considering some of the moves he's made (Winnipeg to Phoenix, Quebec to Colorado etc.) but let's face it, the amount of money being spent on players these days is ridiculous and this lock-out will probably put an end the growing amount of money being put into the player's pockets. I blame both sides. The most amount of chatter between the PA and the league took place in the last 36 hours before the season was cancelled. The league offered a $42 million cap and the PA wanted a $49.5 million cap. Look at the Calgary Flames, this is a team that proves that the player's demands for a 'free market' are ridiculous. The Flames' payroll was the same amount as Detroit paid out in free agency signings over the summer. It's sad to see all of this go on, but Bettman and the owners aren't totally at fault. Hopefully, the lock-out will lead to the removal of southern states teams and the start of more Canadian franchises...
by PicassoMoon44 on Friday, February 18, 2005 Please dont get me wrong... I absolutely do not blame Bettman for all of this. All involved have to give a bit... certainly we saw the players give i a bit towards the end... and those of us outside the negotiations room will never know all... but with that said, Gary Bettman is responsible for overseeing this. An agreement needs to be reached, correct? So, if it is going to come eventually then he should have stayed awake for 5 months seeing that it would come in time. My comment was about his leadership skills, I feel they lack. My comment was about his personality, I feel he was weak. My comment was derived out of frustration... my game is gone. Let a brother air it out! by sangarone40 on Monday, February 21, 2005 Bettman reminds me of Bill Clinton!
by yoyodyne on Thursday, February 24, 2005 Clinton lied about getting blowjobs in the Oval Office. Bettman lies to get money (and probably pays for blowjobs). I'd rather be Bill. |
