"At $10 or $11 million, there was no way in the world they were going to pick it up. I wouldn't pick up my own option,†said Eric Lindros in an attempt to show the NHL owners of Stanley Cup competitors that he still had a little bit of brain activity going through him, 10 or 11 concussions later.
All jokes aside, Lindros tied career highs in concussions this season, notching his league-leading 8th and adding season-ending shoulder surgery to an impressive 39-game, 22-point season for this 31-year old who’s mental capacity now rivals that of a crash test dummy. This past season is the fewest number of games that he has played in a season since him and his father sat out the full schedule in his would-be rookie year with the Nordiques so that he could play for someone else.
Now he has decided that he’d like to leave the New York Rangers and move to a Cup contender. Good thing he doesn’t know that the Avalanche are the old Nordiques, because I’m sure he’d be choked by the fact that ever since they moved to Colorado they’ve been a yearly contender, not to mention have won 2 cups. His 157 points in 192 games over the past 3 seasons might actually interest some of the leagues top teams though don’t get me wrong-however the fact that a gentle pat on the back could rack up #9 and end his career might be a cause for concern.
Normally, no one in their right mind would pick up a 31-year old band-aid, like really if you were walking down the road and you saw one, would YOU pick it up? I don’t think it’ll be much different in this situation unfortunately for Eric Lindros, but hey I’m sure “Be A Player’s†own Brett Lindros would take him on as a co-host.

although he is a band-aid he does alost have a point per game over the last three years. All he has to do is keep his head up and he should go to Atlanta.

Not so fast there fella 39 games-22 points this last season is far from a point per game. And he played not even half of the schedule. Fuck they might as well give you a contract

Who's worse? Lindros for still playing, or the team that picks him up?
Nice job Kerrzy, well said.
