At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, let us remember always. Let us remember the ones from the mountains of British Columbia to the bays of Nova Scotia who answered their nation's call to defend and serve King and Country.
The World War I generation is all but gone and the World War II generation is quickly passing from this life, but never should their sacrifices be forgotton. They are the ones who gave so much so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have and shall always have as long as there are brave valiant souls to step up when the call of duty is made.
Remember those who gave their life on some far off battlefield, but also remember those who fought and returned to a grateful nation. May we always be grateful and show our gratitude.
We have all heard the famous poem "In Flanders Field" but there are others, not so well known that we should also take note of.
WE SHALL KEEP THE FAITH.
Oh! You who sleep in Flanders’ fields,
Sleep sweet - to rise anew,
We caught the torch you threw,
And holding high we kept
The faith with those who died.
We cherish too, the poppy red
That grows on fields where valour led.
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies,
But lends a lustre to the red
Of the flower that blooms above the dead
In Flanders’ fields.
And now the torch and poppy red
Wear in honour of our dead.
Fear not that ye have died for naught
We’ve learned the lesson that ye taught
In Flanders’ fields.

To all my beloved step chil'rens up in the Blessed Great White North as well as those here below in the US, I implore you to make a point this weekend to wear a poppy and to thank a veteran. Please do not pass up the opportunity to spend a few moments with a national hero and treasure. Freedom is never free and they are the ones who have made us free.
.......and God bless our Biff. We love you and thank you for your service.
