The Kerrzy Report Just Ray bein Ray?
Posted by Kerrzy on Monday, February 02, 2009
Ray Emery’s Eurotrip just got violent.

Since packin’ up and moving to Russia to play in the Continental Hockey League, Emery has pretty much stayed out of the headlines…but thanks mainly to YouTube, he’s back!

The former Ottawa Senators and current Atlant Mytishchi netminder was involved in a little altercation with a team trainer the other day – over a hat.

There’s a video circulating that shows a team staffer trying and trying to get Ray Emery to put a hat on as he stands on the bench after being pulled. That guy then takes a face full of goalie mitt.

There’s a long stare-down that follows (Emery described it as the guy giving him a “tough guy stare”) and then Sugar Ray starts throwin! He stuns him with a left and then backs him down the hallway before he’s restrained.READ MORE...

He even went back down the hall for some more!

Emery was yanked after being lit up for three first period goals in a 5-3 loss to Lokomotiv Yaroslav, and I swear it almost looks like the trainer is trying to pick a fight. Know your role buddy!

Mr. Emery is a love-him-or-hate-him kind of guy who got a lot of bad press last year, but I have to say I’m a fan. I was sold when I saw him fighting Buffalo’s Andrew Peters (6’4, 247lbs) with a big smile on his face.

He’ll be back in the NHL soon, he’s one of the top five goalies in the KHL right now with a 20-6-0 record. And it’s good to see he can still fight!

The guy was a fucking rowing trainner before this job, i dont think he knows the emotions involved with the game. Either way emery has nothing to worry about

Apparently this a very small clip of the actual incident. As per James Duthie, http://www.tsn.ca/columnists/james_duthie/?id=265560.

Like every thing else he has done, he only has himself to blame but it is always blown way out of proportion. The media brain washed the fans and ran, the best goaltender ever drafted by the Senators, out of Ottawa. Mind you, there are other reasons why he was bought out...

I have no doubt Emery will be back in the NHL as a starter within the next two years.

I mean its not like Dominik Hasek, Patrick Roy or Ed Belfour have done nothing controversial in their own time. Wink

Did you really just put Emery in the same category as Hasek, Roy, and Belfour? This is exactly why broads shouldn't be allowed to have opinions.

Well, I was readin in the paper the other day that the KHL is just above the AHL as far as quality of hockey...so if Emery has a 20-6 record, I would imagine he's getting close.

Maybe what they meant was in terms of attitude or reputation, cuz there might be a ways to go there

Why isn't that video in chronological order?

No idea, but its the better quality of the ones I could find. I thought that was a bit weird too.
