September fell upon us a few months ago, which ment all the lads were geared up rarin' to put all that off season training into action. Well 4 months has passed and another christmas will be upon us, this means the boys will be coming home to see mom and dad and the rest of the family on a short break from daily practices and games. This however is when the real hockey is being played, lord knows that every Christmas morning I have had the pleasure of waking up to open presents, eat a hearty Christmas breakfast and head to the ODR for a few hours of outdoor puck followed by Turkey dinner.

Heading to the rink and seein' all the boys that are home for a week or two sporting there favorite NHL team jersey with a toque and sweatpants is probably one of the best Christmas presents I get every year. Catching up with the boys for a second, finding out how their season is going (on and off the ice), and then just getting into it and passing the puck around as I see those guys daily is nothing less than Beauty.

Most of Canada however has had the "el nino" warning telling us that it will be a warm one. As nice as it is to have the temp around 0 degrees or just above, also means the absense of the outdoor rinks. But as of last week the hockey gods have prevailed once again (let alone how much they are failing with the whole NHL deal.....NHL??? whats that anwyays).

Here in Calgary it has snowed throughout the past couple days and yes the temperature keeps dropping! HOOORAY! As I have been watching the weather network, temperatures around the country are dropping, and yes, the rinks are being made in communities in and around all Canadian cities and towns just in time for Christmas.....Because whats Christmas without the frozen pond, hot chocolate, and pucks?...more
So when you see that bright new yellow synergy santa brought in the hands of a 5 year old make sure you hit em' right on the tape with a beauty pass so he can get that gloriouse feeling of scoring the first goal for his "stick drawn" team on christmas day.

Or when you see the shine from the sun off the blades of a brand new set of grafs being sported by a peewee div 5 player. Make sure he beats you in a foot race into the corner so s/he can know that "grafs acctually DO make you skate faster!" and that Santa has just made him/her a faster hockey player

This Christmas will be the first for myself not to be home. I will be in the yukon Drillin Oil on the rigs. So on behalf of GongshowHockey.com I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday's, a great couple weeks of Pond hockey, and an excellent New years.

GIIIIIIDDDRRRRRDUUUUUUUN!
