Wow. The Detroit Red Wings just signed Dominik Hasek again. This is after chasing and dumping Ed Belfour, the same summer that Kenny Holland gave up long-time goaltender Manny Legace after his first real breakout season. Legace didn’t steal the Wings a Stanley Cup so…Dominik Hasek again? It’s been a weird summer.READ MORE...

Rob Blake back to the Kings; Zdeno Chara to Boston.

Jovanovski to Phoenix?!

Doug Weight back to St. Louis; Brendan Shanahan to the Rangers.

Some guys are reuniting, but on a different team, like the case of Doug Weight who played with Billy Guerin in Edmonton, and will now play alongside him in St. Louis.

Ed Belfour is hooking up with his old coach Mike Keenan in Florida, while Mike Peca is heading home to play for the Maple Leafs.

Some guys are moving around within their own division, as in the case of John Grahame who was chased out of Tampa Bay after a rough playoff performance going to the Stanley Cup winning Carolina Hurricanes…

Wait, who’s going to take over in Ottawa now that Hasek isn’t around? Carolina had two number ones on their hands with Conn Smyth winner Cam Ward and Martin Gerber, so with Grahame’s arrival into town came Gerber’s ticket out.

The Dallas Stars lost a 30-goal scorer in Jason Arnott, but picked up a potential 30-goal scorer in Eric Lindros…

The LA Kings lost one fading star in Jeremy Roenick who moved to Phoenix, but kept a waning one in Sean Avery, even though the TEAM suspended him for the last few games of the 05-06 season.

Marc Savard joining Chara in Boston and Mike Grier heading to the Shark Tank are two other moves that surprised me this summer…Who’s next to go?

I’m hearing that Anson Carter to the Leafs is almost done, Legace to St. Louis, maybe Philadelphia…I have even heard that Peter Bondra was considering a move back to Washington!

It’ll be interesting to see what happens in New Jersey as well…Scott Gomez will sign for $5-million a year likely putting the team over the salary cap…but they’ve still got to sign 48-goal scorer Brian Gionta, who only made in the range of $600,000 last season.

Hasek back to Detroit?!
