It goes back in the books about 5 years now. School had just started up; Ive talked to a few lads here and there that played puck and just shot the shit with the boys. Myself as a new-comer to the town north of sixty Im a little nervous to step foot into the rink for my first year of Bantam hockey. It was a monday night on a cold fall evening when I stepped through the front doors, not thinking anything of it this tall kid aproached me and asked what my name was. We chatted for a bit through registration and went our seperate ways.

Later that week the first ice-session started up and sure enough that big boy was on my team for intersquad. Me beeing a small guy he always was watching out for me getting cheap shots considering im the new kid, my size never did help out.
Needless to say, we became buds from that day on. Played on the same team for 2 seasons untill he was cut from Midget Rep.

The next season big boy Levi Shannon shows up for camp gearing to go with a big smile on his face. Was that kid a character in the room, not a moment when he wasnt doing something outrageously retarded, just couldnt help ourselves from laughing. From the man-gina to the classic tea-bag. That year we won our highschool championship and partied like troopers all night. The team barely makes it to the ceremony held for us the next morning, me as the captain Im wondering where the F*ck is Levi?! So my name is called out to do the lap of victory holding the trophy with pride. Still no Levi! The names are counted down, then he busts through the door as they say his name runnin around like he just got off the ice. Cranked as could be!

To make a short story shorter, our buddy Shannon was stabbed lastnight and medivaced to the hospital. From loosing soo much blood he had a stroke and now has brain damage, after returning out of surgery they doctors dont know if he will make it or not. If he does he will have a bad chance of loosing his vision and beeing paralized.

Id like to send out all the hope and prayers I can on behalf of all the boys back home and from GongShowHockey.com. Its hard to have this happen to a buddy, but a hockey player has too many memories to list.

Best Wishes
