Through out the years of hockey, the sport we have all come to know and love it has been know as a sport where only the toughest survive. You have always needed to have a little F.U in you. All the greats of the game the Howe's the Orr's and the Richard's all have fire in their hearts and ice in their vains. They played the game with so much grit and passion nobody in todays game would even want to be on the same ice as them. |

What a busy afternoon in the NHL. A lot of big names shuffled today and some teams made it clear that nothing less than Stanley will suffice this season. The Penguins made the biggest splash today acquiring sniper Marian Hossa for Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen, prospect Angelo Esposito and 2008 1st Rounder. The Pens also acquired Hal Gill to toughen up the blueline. San Jose made a big improvement adding puck moving defenseman Brian Campbell from Buffalo. The Washington Capitals sent a message that there are serious about making the playoffs this year adding aging center Sergei Fedorov, agitator Matt Cooke and solid goaltender Cristobal Huet. Brad Richards also swapped conferences in hopes of winning another Stanley Cup ring, joining the Dallas Stars. The Stars have been playing some great hockey as of late and could prove to be a threat in the very deep Western Conference. All in all it has been more exciting than Christmas morning. With the deadline here and gone let the chase for Lord Stanley begin! |

Recently there’s been a lot of talk about having goaltenders wear special jerseys with advertisements on them. When I first heard this idea I reacted like most hockey fans did, my initial reaction was I’ll believe it when I see it. I assumed that this was just another one of the NHL’s brain dead ideas hoping to increase revenues. I couldn’t possible have seen the NHLP allow this idea to go through. |
